Research at SAIIER takes place in classrooms and gardens, in workshops and dialogues, in productions, stories, and silence.
It begins with questions asked sincerely, and an aspiration to grow in consciousness. As part of Auroville’s larger experiment, SAIIER supports research that is evolution-centric, integrally grounded, and lived in context. It does not separate mind from experience. Instead, it invites reflection-in-action and action-in-reflection — honouring the whole being in the process of becoming.
Educators here are researchers. So are artists, athletes, youth, and elders. The work is diverse: from teacher education and curriculum development to books for children, philosophical inquiry, and rethinking the very aims of learning. What unites it is not a discipline, but a shared commitment to truth-seeking as a way of life.

SAIIER encourages research that emerges from the lived experience of Auroville — a space shaped by its Charter, its contradictions, and its ongoing aspiration. This includes inquiries into education policy, social dynamics, and inner change.
